We are pleased to announce that Magdalena Jankowska received the award in the competition "Gold Medal of Chemistry 2020„ She is a student of chemical technology at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology of the Cracow University of Technology. The appreciated engineering thesis "Synthesis of 1,2,3,4,5-pentafluoro-6 - [(E) -styryl] benzene derivatives, studies of spectroscopic properties and their application to the role of cationic, radical and hybrid polymerization photoinitiators" was carried out under the supervision of Dr. hab. Eng. Joanna Ortyl, prof. PK, as part of a grant from the Foundation for Polish Science. The "Gold Medal of Chemistry" competition is organized by the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in cooperation with DuPont - one of the largest chemical concerns in the world. The initiative aims to select the authors of the best bachelor's or engineering theses in chemistry and its borderlands.
