The Applied Photochemistry Team in action at the Invention Day at the Krakow University of Technology

At this year's Invention Day at the Krakow University of Technology, the Applied Photochemistry Team presented innovative developments at the intersection of chemistry, materials science and 3D printing technology. The focus was on modern photopolymer materials, conductive polymers and advanced light-induced reaction initiation systems, which are used in the additive manufacturing of functional 3D structures.

The event was also an opportunity to promote Photo4Chem, a spin-off company established at Krakow University of Technology, whose mission is to commercialise the results of scientific research in the field of photochemistry and materials technology.

Of particular interest was the presentation of a project funded by the Medical Research Agency, dedicated to the use of iridium compounds as sensory theranostic platforms. This project opens up new perspectives for cancer diagnosis and therapy - combining biological lesion detection functions with therapeutic potential in a single chemical compound.
