Emilia Hola, PhD student from our group realizes study visit in Professor’s Wuge Briscoe research group in The School of Chemistry in Bristol as a part of PROM programme financed from National Agency for Academic Exchange.
The School of Chemistry in Bristol (ranked 4th in the UK in the recent REF 2014 exercise) hosts over 50 staff (including 5 externally funded Research Fellows), close to 200 PhD students and 80-90 PDRAs funded from a wide variety of sources including UK and EU Research Councils.
The The School of Chemistry is very well equipped, and in addition to two state-of-the-art atomic force microscopes (AFMs) and newly refurbished X-ray and SEM suites, a wide range of surface characterisation techniques including the Kruss Surface Science Centre which houses the state of the art surface wettability testing instruments. Emilia works on surface characterisation of photopolymerised materials using advanced physicochemical methods.

Awarded for scientific and research activities that resulted in numerous publications, patents, utility models, invention projects and practical applications and industrial implementations, especially in the field of photochemistry – including photopolymerization processes in polymer systems and photochemical processes taking place in organic molecules. The award is a direct result of the TEAM TECH project co-financed by the Foundation for Polish Science.
